OpenAI is set to release GPT-4, an upgrade to its popular language model that will allow users to create videos from text. Microsoft Germany CTO Andreas Braun announced the feature at a recent AI event, with the more powerful AI set to be introduced next week. Braun said that the multimodal models in GPT-4 would offer “completely different possibilities” including video creation. Microsoft is a major investor in OpenAI, having poured billions into the company.
Despite the buzz surrounding GPT-4, OpenAI CEO Sam Altman has warned that “people are begging to be disappointed, and they will be.” OpenAI CTO Mira Murati has also cautioned against hype, while acknowledging that the technology could broaden opportunities.

Musk originally named the company “Open” AI as it was established as a non-profit, open-source organization to counterbalance Google.
